Organizing Desk Space!

Hiya Lovelies,
In my opinion one of the main things that should be done at the start of every month is a clear out and an organize of the areas you use most (especially if you're a messy person to an extreme level like me) . It's also important to change up the setting you spend a lot of time in to provoke new inspirations and thoughts inside your head. The first Part I decided to organize was my desk space.  Bearing in mind, for this month, the only time i sit at my desk  is to paint my nails and choose jewelry, I decided to play up that aspect and downsize the amount of space stationary usually takes up.

This is my desk set up at the moment. The desk is actually an old kitchen table which is older than me and the chair is just a simple office chair from Argos. The throw was £4 from Primark and the cushion was handmade and a gift. The round hat box in the right hand corner of the desk actually stores bikinis and was £12 on sale from CB Furnishings and the red baskets were five for around £2.50 from Wilkinsons.

Just adding a throw to a desk chair can make it so much more comfy and look a bit more girly. It's honestly the nicest feeling to be sat here on an evening writing blog posts all cosy.

I decided to store my jewelry in the red baskets so it is easily viewable and sorted into different categories. It has made me realise I own a LOT. A lot of it was given to me from a grandparent and there are a lot of interesting pieces. My nail varnishes are now on full display due to the fact that this is now the main purpose of the desk to paint my nails at.

On the left hand side of my desk are 2 shoe boxes holding stationary and nail tools and some make up I don't use on a regular basis. Then at the front are the things I use the most to make lists and my purse.
Overall the whole area is about ten times more organised than usual and everything is clearly viewable. Thank you for taking the time for reading this post.

Weekly Smiles #1

Hiya lovelies,
So today I'm going to begin my 'Weekly Smiles' series, where I will discuss three things in the previous week which I have enjoyed. This could include anything, from adventures to movies or even just quotes which made me laugh.  This week is the first so here goes...

1) Night Out with my Housemates
As I'm relatively new to the blogging world, you probably don't know that I've previously moved home from my first year of university. When I say previously, I've been home 2 weeks now... but on Monday, me and my best friend (also a housemate), traveled back up to Middlesbrough to have a final farewell drink and night out with everyone at the house. It was just nice to all get together and enjoy a night of dancing and drinks without the the stress of University work and deadlines on us all. It was like Freshers relived and a great way to end the year!

2) Online Catch Ups with the Squad
Since moving out of university, its been hard to get used to not having people constantly around to talk to, as everyone at home either works or still goes to school. I've found talking and joking about memories on twitter is honestly the loveliest thing to do when I'm bored and makes me feel more sane. The group of friends I've met at uni are honestly friends for life and I can't be miserable around them because they have such positive attitudes and never take anything too seriously.

3) OITNB SEASON 3!
Need I say more...

Rimmel Lasting Finish Soft Colour Blush - 050 Live Pink

I purchased this on a recent trip to Superdrug where it retailed for £3.99.  On first glance, the colour of the blush looks extremely bright, but on application, although it is pigmented, it glides on as a softer pink. It is a great blusher to use daily and goes with a variety of different colours (No need to plan an outfit round it!)
The blusher gives the look of a healthy glow and is a great addition to any make up collection, especially if you are a beginner and looking for a staple blush.

#FOTD - Smokey Eyes and Pink Lips

  1. The First thing I do on a day to day basis is use the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water on a cotton pad to get rid of any makeup that I may have left behind the night before.
  2. The next aspect is to moisturise. I use the Simple Kind To Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser all over my face.
  3. I then apply a light covering of Rimmel's Match Perfection Foundation in 200 Soft Beige and cover any dark circles and blemishes with their Wake Me Up concealer in 040 Soft Beige.
  4. To create a healthy glow, I use Rimmel's Lasting Finish Soft Colour Blush in 050 Live Pink.
  5. I set everything with Rimmel's Stay Matte Pressed Powder in 002 Pink Blossom.
  6.  For my eyes, I created a smokey eye with the Next Cashmere Pallette and Barry M Showgirl Mascara on the lashes.
  7. For my lips, I use the Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick (Are you guessing I'm a Rimmel fan by now or...)  in shade 05.
I hope you enjoyed reading what my make up routine is on a daily basis. I'm currently working through reviews of the products used so when they are done, they will be linked. Thank you,

The British Tag!

Hiya lovelies,
Okay, so today I am defying the rules of 'tags' and I am simply answering some questions because 1. I thought it would be fun , 2. I'm British and 3. I have no friends to tag after. So yep, that's my introduction done. I hope you enjoy

1. How many cups of tea do you drink a day and how many sugars?
This is making me sound like the most unbritish(?) thing to start of by saying but I actually dislike tea. The only time I would ever drink it would be when I was in college and it would be raining outside so we'd sit in Costa, pay £1 for a teapot of tea between three of us (yes, it used to be that cheap), and stay there until the rain stopped which I must say usually took a good hour. I swear that was the highlight of my life.

2. What is your favourite part of your roast dinner?
I'm the strangest person when it comes to roast dinners and I seem to like the items that are thought of as 'less important' by some. In my opinion, the potatoes, stuffing, Yorkshire puddings and gravy would be fine without any meat and vegetables. I'm not even joking. There's a hint if you ever have me round for a meal.

3. What is your favourite dunking biscuit?
I am going to have to say chocolate malted milk biscuits with the cow on. I'm sorry but when you dunk it and the chocolate starts to melt and its just like soggy chocolateyness, that's the best.

4. What is your favourite quintessentially British past time?
It would have to be eating fish and chips on the beach. If there's one thing a person should know about me, it's that I love the beach more than life.

5. What is your favourite word?
It would have to be lovely. I call people lovely all the time, it gets to the point where everyone in the whole world would be classed as lovely if it were me deciding. oops

6. Do you know any cockney rhyme slang?
Apples and pears - Stairs.... That's about it.

7. What is your favourite sweet?
I'm not even sure what they were called but they were strawberries and cream flavored and hard boiled.

8. What would your pub be called ?
I'm not sure , maybe The Tiger lily just because it sounds like a really cute name.

9. Who is your number 1 British person?
Nicola Roberts because she is such an influential positive role model :')

10. What is your favourite shop and restaurant?
My favourite shop right now has to be TK Maxx :/ such good home ware deals and my favourite restaurant would be anywhere with a good buffet, oh dear.

11. What British song pops into your head?
Missing Andy - Made In England

12. Marmite?
Absolutely Love it!

I hope you enjoyed this 'tag'!
